Sunaparanta Goa Centre for the Arts opened Buttered Bread on a Cats Back, an exhibition marking the culmination of Edition IV of the Sunaparanta Art Initiator Lab 2024–2025.

Bringing together ten emerging voices across disciplines and mediums, this show offers playful, poignant, and thought-provoking responses to the contradictions of everyday life. Their collective vision highlights the richness of experimentation, collaboration, and the shared journey of becoming.
 
Buttered Bread on a Cats Back takes its cue from the whimsical `buttered cat’ paradox that explores the tensions between opposing forces that shape our understanding of land, memory, and identity. The artists reflect on these themes through acts of preservation, transformation, intimacy, and storytelling, reminding us that meaning often emerges not from certainty, but from the spaces in between.

Virwers were invited to experience this moment of convergence, where buttered toast and feline instinct meet—and where artistic practices find their feet in mid-air.
