Western Classical Music Concert by Motus Quartet (Austria)

Sunaparanta Goa Centre for the Arts is delighted to present a performance by the Austrian Motus Quartet with Tim de Vries (1st violin), Karla Kriz (2nd violin), Erin Pitts (viola) and Domonkos Hartmann (cello) featuring Dr. Marialena Fernandes (piano) on Wednesday, 16 April 2025 at 6:30 pm.

Trained under Johannes Meissl at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, the quartet recently won the first prize at the 10th International Joseph Joachim Competition for chamber music and also won the Artis Quartet Award and the Viennese Classicism Award. They have presented their work at the Vienna Konzerthaus, Vienna Musikverein, Denmark, Italy, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tunisia and the US.

The Chamber Music ensemble will play compositions by Joseph Haydn, Dmitri Shostakovic and Antonin Dvorak.

This concert marks the 10th year anniversary of the Quest for Passion, spearheaded by Dr. Fernandes who has been teaching at the University of Music & Performing Arts in Vienna since 1991 and has been recently awarded the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award in 2025. The project annually connects young musicians from Europe and India through concerts across the subcontinent.
