This weekend, Sunaparanta - Goa Centre for the Arts presents 'Geometric - Mix n Match' - an experimental and fun workshop with Textile Designer, Anjali D’Souza on the 10th and 11th of March 2012 (Saturday and Sunday) from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm
A Look through the Design Process!
- Learn Print and Fabric manipulation Techniques - A range of Print and Stitch techniques that can be applied to Paper and Fabric
- Learn Stenciling, Negative Stenciling, Basics in Printing, Applique techniques
- Look at various ways to create Geometric prints on Paper and Fabric
The workshop will provide the students with a small collection of drawings and a range of print and stitch techniques that can be applied to paper and fabric. The participants can also apply it to their own practice.
The Workshop
- Drawing Stage: Drawing exercises using a mixture of differnt mediums to gain a range of textures and shapes which will inspire the print and textile part of the workshop.
- Print Techniques: Stenciling and Negative Stenciling: using fabric paints and/or acrylic paints, sponging.
- Printmaking: Using thermocol as a printing tool, cutting out shapes to create a shape for printing onto paper/fabric. Also using paper and card as stamps to print with, acrylic or print making ink would be best.
- Applique: Showing cut away applique and stitch techniques using line and texture from the drawings.
